What is Copyright ?
A Copyright is a legal mean of protecting an author’s work. A copyright is a legal right given to original creators of work so that he can protect the work from being misused, exploited and copied until and unless exempted under Copyright Act,1957. A copyright is an asset and can be transferred from one person to another. A copyright does not protect the idea but the idea in which expression can be expressed. Copyright includes a bundle of rights like reproduction, communication, and translation of work. The copyright owner also has the right to authorize other people to use their work or art. If you want to protect your work, it is important to get it copyrighted because it gives you the legal right to the ownership of the work.
What is Copyright Objection?
Copyright objection means an objection on application raised by Registrar. There are various reasons for the objection of copyright such as similarities in work with existing work, duplication of work with another’s work. The application which is presented by the applicant may be objected at any time within 30 days of submission of application of copyright. The Registrar sends a letter to the applicant asking reply with the clarifications.
Why you should reply to Copyright Objection
After examining the application, if an objection is raised by the registrar, in such case Registrar informs the applicant for the same and requests for clarifications. It is important to file a copyright objection letter. If a response is not filed, within given time it is deemed to be “Rejected” in the Copyright Journal. To avoid rejection, it is important to respond to the copyright objection.
Reply to a Copyright Objection
Copyright Objection is a communication sent by the registrar for demanding a clarification in that regard. It is important to submit a reply to copyright objection. After the application is objected by the registrar, it is important and an obligation to reply against the objection letter regarding the copyright. Applicant needs to submit a proper reply to the objection letter within 30 days of issue of the letter. There is no fixed format to draft a response to the copyright objection letter. Also, the objection letter can be responded either by the applicant himself giving the explanation about the work done by him or it can also hire a professional or team of professionals to help him to respond to the copyright objection letter.
