AGMARK REGISTRATION
AGMARK is a mark which is certified by the government of India for all agriculture products to ensure the quality as well as standard of the agriculture products under the Agricultural Produce (Grading & Marking) Act, 1937. It consists of two words AG and MARK, AG means Agricultural Produce and MARK means certification mark, given by the Directorate of Marketing and Inspection. It is not mandatory to have AGMARK for all the products but however it is mandatory for the products which affect the health and safety of the customers. There are many Agmark Laboratories across the country to test the quality of Agricultural Product which can be easily obtained.
This AGMARK grades helps the farmers to get the reasonable price for the agricultural commodities as per the qualities they produced and consumer get the good and desired quality of product. There are few specific commodities which are certified under AGMARK for domestic trading purpose such as spices, ghee, butter, mustard oil, Wheat atta, etc. The AGMARK Department provide training to the people in the field of agriculture, promotes warehouses practices, and make people aware of them.
AGMARK registration covers 213 products which includes different category of agriculture or horticulture commodities including cereals, pluses, vegetables oil, all articles of food and drink wholly or partly manufactured from any such produce and fleeces and skin of animals and other semi processed goods.

Difference Between FSSAI and AGMARK
Certifications or Agency
AGMARK is a certification of the agricultural produces as per the Agricultural Products Act, 1986 whereas, FSSAI is an agency that comes under the purview of Ministry of Health & Family Welfare.
Different Regulatory Acts
AGMARK covered under the Agricultural Produce (Grading & Marking) Act, 1937 whereas, FSSAI (Food Safety and Authority of India) covered under the Food Safety and Standard Act, 2006.
Purpose of Registration
AGMARK is used for assuring and grading of agricultural products whereas, FSSAI works as a regulatory and supervising agency that regulates the food business, their functions, their operation and their working.
