Check Patentability

Furnish Necessary Documents and Information
Patent application requires several specific information points and supporting documents related to the invention, which should be kept ready before filling the patent application form.

Application Filing

Application Publication
After 18 months of initial application, the application is published in a recognized journal of the relevant field. With the payment of additional fee, this period can be reduced to 15 days.

Patent Examination and Prosecution
An examiner is appointed after a request for patent examination is filed. The examination involves checking for patentability, which is followed by submission of a report by the examiner to a controller.

Patent Objection
The controller checks the report for any objections and if they arise, the applicant is informed about the same. The applicant needs to respond to these objections with a strong report in order to resolve them, in due time.

Patent Grant
Once the objections are resolved satisfactorily, the patent is granted and published in a journal.
