Overview

All the companies incorporated under the Companies Act, 1956 or Companies Act 2013 have to ensure the Annual e-Filing with the Registrar of Companies (RoC). In this annual filing, the company is required to furnish the details regarding accounts, return etc. It is mandatory for every company incorporated in India to file the prescribed forms along with the required documents on an annual basis. 
Due dates for Annual Filing:
First Annual Filing of the Company - 30th December of the next year from the date of Incorporation 
Subsequent Annual Filing - 30th September of the same year in which Financial Year of the Company ends. 

Details
The information to be furnished includes financial and non-financial information which is required to be submitted to the Companies’ regulatory authority i.e. Registrar of Companies (ROC) of the state where the registered office of the company is situated. 

Forms
The e-filing and related documents are available at the website of Ministry of Corporate Affairs. The various forms and their respective applicability are as mentioned below:
Form 23AC: To file Balance Sheet (applicable to all Companies other than the exempted category of Companies). There is a separate option available named ‘Form 23AC-XBRL’ to file the balance sheet in XBRL format (applicable to a selected category of Companies).
Form 23ACA: To file Profit & Loss account (applicable to all Companies other than the exempted category of Companies). There is a separate option available named ‘Form 23ACA-XBRL’ to file the Profit & Loss account in XBRL format (applicable to a selected category of Companies)
Form 20B: To file Annual Return by Companies having share capital.
Form 66: To file Compliance Certificate by Companies having paid up capital of Rs. 10 lakh - Rs. 2 crore.
Form 21A: To file Annual Return by Companies not having share capital.
Form AOC-4: To file the financial statement and other documents (For FY start on or after 01.04.2014). There is a separate option available named ‘Form AOC4-XBRL’ to file the above-mentioned data in XBRL format.
Form AOC4- CFS: Form for filing statement containing salient features of consolidated financial statement of a group (For FY beginning on or after 01.04.2014).
Form MGT-7: Form to file Annual Return by the Companies having share capital (For FY ending on or after 01.04.2014).

    Return Filing

    Care has to be taken while filling forms because revision of all annual filing eForms except Form 23AC/ACA and Form 23AC-XBRL/ 23ACA-XBRL can be done but the fees for subsequent revised filing shall be charged. In order to avoid that situation, please make sure that the information that you provide us is correct and error-free.
