What is meant by trademark renewal?

Trademarks once registered are valid for 10 years and have an option of getting renewed of trademark with Registrar. The process can be done 6 months before the trademark is about to be expired. In most cases, the notice is sent by the registrar 6 months before the expiration date in case the company has forgotten. In case the organization doesn’t file for the renewal, in such cases, the registrar advertises about the removal of the particular trademark from the Trade Marks Journal. The removal of the registered trademark can be done only after 12 months. The renewal, however, can be done within 6 to 12 months and is likely to be renewed through a process of restoration. The Trademark renewal application should be filed before the deadline to enjoy the continuous protection of trademark.
